we shopped at the market in Poblacion our neighboring barangay |
This week our training included learning to cook Filipino
food for ourselves. We were given an allotment of money and taken to a market
to shop for the food.

We didn’t realize we would be cooking over a fire. Kim’s
host family let us use their beach picnic site where we built cooking fires and
prepared the food.

The weather cooperated and turned out to be one of the
nicest days we’ve had. My adobo manoke (chicken) turned out great. I had good
teachers, Litang and Olive.
