Celebrations After Swearing In

Manila Bay across street from Bayview Park Hotel

Manila when it wasn't raining

The heavy rain was causing flooding and it took a while to find a taxi willing to take us to Makati, a suburb of Manila and Yasmin’s stomping grounds. The ride took about an hour because of the flooding and heavy traffic. It was well worth it.
At the Mexican place

Victoria
First we went to a Mexican place in an upscale shopping center with P300 bottomless margaritas that got us prepared for dancing at the club. This shopping center has Starbucks, Seattle’s Best Coffee, a huge National Bookstore, Columbia, Legos, GAP, toy stores and hip shoe and clothing stores. You name it and can find it here. Restaurants and cafes with outdoor shaded seating, beautiful fountains, and shrubs trimmed into animal shapes. From the Mexican place we walked to the 7 High club and danced our legs off to DJ music with colored lazar lights and lots of friendly young Filipinos.

I couldn’t believe it was 3:00 when we left and boy was I pooped and collapsed into bed when we got back to the hotel.
