Our Barangay Captain cutting the ribbon |
This was a very special day with a ribbon cutting ceremony, the ribbon being cut by our
Barangay Captain, opening prayer and singing the national anthem.

My family prepared the food for everyone. Certificates of acknowledgement and thanks were presented to those who helped us with the project. The children pressed their handprints to the wall with a pledge to take care of the sea.

The sea is alive and we will take care of it. |
I think the biggest hit of
all is the tetherball, a whole new game for them they’d never seen before.
That ball got no rest for the remaining days we were in Sabang.

All of us are so happy about the success of this park. You can probably imagine the fun we had watching all those happy faces playing in the park.

On the 12th we were driven to Olongipo so we
could ship a box of things ahead of us to our permanent site. I'm very grateful
PC paid P800 towards the shipment of this box. Over the course of training we had been issued
many books and training materials that would never have fit in my luggage. My
box weighed 24 kilos. About 50 pounds I didn’t have to lug with me on the flight.
